How do I read and participate in a piece of Spinless Fiction?
It’s easy! Read the main story, and then read parallel story/stories. Go to the story’s forum, create your own character and hang out with other readers and characters in the story. This is where you get your chance to influence what happens in the story. Say what you want to happen, share your ideas, or create a plot, etc. Don’t forget to check out any other extra features that the story may have, such as wikis etc.
I want to write my own Spineless Fiction
Great! There are two ways of doing that. At the moment you need to set your Spineless project up yourself. In the future, you will hopefully be able to let Spineless Fiction host your spineless project for a small fee. Don’t worry, though. It’s not hard to set up a Spineless Project. Here’s all the information you need. Tell us about your Spineless project and will link to it for free if you link back to us.

Not at all. All Spineless texts are free to read, influence and share. It doesn’t have a price until you decide to set one by making a donation, subscribing or buying something in the merchandise shop. Or why not just tell as many of your friends as possible about us?
Why Spineless fiction? Don’t you like real books?
We love books! But most of all we love good stories and good stories come in many different shapes. Spineless fiction also gives you many things a “real” book can’t. You get a chance to influence the story and create your own characters, places and things for it. Spineless fiction fills the gap between conventional fiction and games.
Can Spineless Fiction grow a spine?
It sure can. Spineless fiction doesn’t limit the story. If the author wants to print his or her story, why not? But growing a spine is never the main goal for truly Spineless fiction, it’s just a fun add-on. If your favourite Spineless Fiction ever grows a spine, buying it for your friends is a great way of supporting it.
